This balanced and approachable high-rye whiskey will impress you with its combo of earthy spice and nutty sourdough. Aromas of cinnamon, menthol--typical for a rye whiskey--mingle with strong pastry rye berry notes. You'll taste buttery brioche reminiscent of pecan pie combined with dried berry and dark chocolate. Peppery grain flavors are balanced with aromatic florals and rich caramel from the barrel. This medium-body spirit has a nice heat that doesn't overwhelm. Perfect to partake when that surprise thunderstorm brings a chilly dampness to your campsite.
The mash bill is befitting of a high-rye whiskey: 72% Dark Northern Rye, 17% Unmalted Barley, 11% Malted Barley. The dark northern rye was grown on small farms in Washington and Oregon and milled at Camas Country Mill in Eugene. Mashed, fermented, double-copper-pot distilled, and aged in #2 char new American Oak casks for over 4 years in Portland, Oregon.

These premium Oregon Straight whiskeys are fermented and distilled in-house at our distillery in Southeast Portland. Each one spends over three years aging in new charred American oak barrels to mellow and enhance their flavor. With the exception of a few West Coast bottle shops, our Distiller’s Reserve Whiskeys are only available at the New Deal Bottle Shop.

Easy Local Pickup is available 7 days a week. During normal business hours, local pickup orders are ready within one hour. Pull up in our loading zone on SE Salmon Street and we'll bring your order out to you.
