This balanced and approachable high-rye whiskey will impress you with its combo of earthy spice and nutty sourdough. Aromas of cinnamon & menthol--typical for a rye whiskey--mingle with strong pastry & rye berry notes. You'll taste buttery brioche reminiscent of pecan pie combined with dried berry and dark chocolate. Peppery grain flavors are balanced with aromatic florals and rich caramel from the barrel. This medium-body spirit has a nice heat that doesn't overwhelm. Perfect to partake when that surprise thunderstorm brings a chilly dampness to your campsite.
The dark northern rye was grown on small farms in Washington and Oregon and milled at Camas Country Mill in Eugene.
Mashed, fermented, double-copper-pot distilled, and aged in #2 char new American Oak casks for over 4 years in Portland, Oregon.
